Day 1
From Four Seasons Campers head north on the A82 to Glencoe.

- Stop at pretty village of Luss on Loch Lomond
- Get last minute suppliers at Green Welly Stop at Tyndrum
- Enjoy ‘healthy’ fish and chips from The Real Food Café in Tyndrum
- Stretch your legs along part of the West Highland Way at Bridge of Orchy and enjoy some great pub food at The Bridge of Orchy Hotel – we have seen capercaille on this path!
- Great photo opportunities around Glencoe with several view points along the route
- Eat at The Clachaig Inn near Glencoe and campsite

Day 2
Either stay around Glencoe for the day walking and touring around Loch Leven and camp around Glencoe or continue up to Fort William at end of the day.
Things to see and do
- Walk to the Hidden Valley in Glencoe where the Macdonalds used to hide their cattle
- Drive round Loch Leven to Kinlochleven and walk to Grey Mares Tale Waterfall
- Continue round the north side of Loch Leven towards Ballachulish and eat at Loch Leven Seafood café
- Glencoe Folk Museum and learn about Jacobites and Glencoe Massacre
- Take a boat tour on Loch Leven

Day 3
Continue north on A82 to Invergarry then take the A827 west towards Plockton. Head north to Stromferry and continue to Strathcarron then take the A896 to Tornapress and head west over the Bealach na Ba (a verticle winding road over the mountain) to Applecross. If the weather is bad, take the longer road to Applecross via Shieldaig in the north. There is a fantastic Inn at Applecross with amazing seafood and I would highly recommend paying it a visit.
Things to see and do
- Get the West Highland Jacobite steam train between Mallaig and Fort William(made famous by the Hogwarts Express in Harry Potter)
- View the Glenfinnan viaduct and monument at the head of Loch Sheil
- Supermarkets at Fort William at roundabout on seafront
- Neptunes Staircase is a series of canal locks that link the Caledonian Canal to the open sea and is well worth a visit. At this time of year you should spot some beautiful Scandinavian yachts coming through the canal on their way to the beautiful West Coast and Inner Hebrides.

- Glenelg Brochs – two 2000 year old towers near Glenelg – take Old Military Road to the west of Sheilbridge

Day 4
Continue north to Shieldaig and onto Torridon then head east to Kinlochewe and north up the A832 along Loch Maree and onto Gairloch where there are some great beaches to stop at.
- Visit Inverewe Gardens – a lush, sub-tropical style garden perched on a peninsula at Loch Ewe
- Enjoy beaches at Gairloch – Mellon Udrigle
- Walk around Loch Kernseray
- Beine Eighe Trail
- Rubha Riedh Lighthouse – walk along cliff tops and look out for dolphins

Day 5, 6 and 7
Continue round the coast to Dundonnell and onto the A835 to Ullapool for some lively music, great pubs and fantastic fish and chips! From Ullapool head up the north on the A835 to north to Drumrunie then head west to Achiltibuie. On 3rd night camp down in Ullapool at campsite

- Enjoy Ullapool’s award winning fish and chips as you watch ferries come in and out of Loch Broom
- Visit Lochinver Pottery shop (there is one in Ullapool and one in Lochinver but better one is in Ullapool)
- Enjoy Ullapool Book shop
- Summer Isles Hotel for excellent food
- Boat Trip to Summer Isles from Achiltibuie
- Climb Stac Pollaidh for stunning views over lochans and ocean below
- Walk along beach at Ullapool and climb on old shipwreck
- Visit Rhue Lighthouse by Ullapool near Ardmair
- Lochinver Larder for incredible pies…over 20 flavours
- Stunning beaches at Achmelvic
- Stop at Knockan Crag National Nature reserve between Ullapool and Achmelvic to view the rock formations (this is part of the North West Geopark rock route showing the story of how Scotland was formed – even if the kids aren’t into Geology – it’s really interesting!) (free)
- Stop at Ardvreck Castle on shores of Loch Assynt and wander around the ruins (free)

Day 8
Drive south from Achiltibuie/Ullapool to Inverness and south down the A82 to Drumnadrochit then head west along A837 to Cannich and west to Loch Affric

- Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness
- Stop for a walk near Garve between Inverness and Ullapool
- National Trust Culloden – excellent display and walk across battlefield with nice café
- Walk around Glen Affric

Drive south down A82 through Fort Augustus to Spean Bridge and take the A86 to Laggan then down the A9 to Dunkeld.

- Blair Athol Castle and Distillery
- House of Bruar for lunch and Scottish clothes shopping
- Enjoy pretty village of Dunkeld (often folk music in pubs )
- Walk along the river by Dunkeld and watch the salmon fishermen
- Loch of Lowes Nature Reserve
- Enjoy a woodland walk at The Hermitage
