Our favourite dog friendly pubs in Scotland

There is nothing nicer than a day of activity in our great outdoors followed by a warming fire in one of Scotland’s inviting pubs or Inns with your best friend by your side – and a dog bowl by theirs for them to quench their thirst!

We’ve listed below some of our favourite dog-friendly pubs and Inns in Scotland where you and your dog will always be met with a warm welcome!

Glenelg Inn

Glenelg Inn is just over the sea from Skye and this wonderful warm and welcoming Inn loves dogs.  The owner is a dog lover and you will be made to feel very welcome. With a beer garden overlooking the sea to Skye, this is the perfect place for you and your dog to relax and unwind at the end of a days adventure.  The food here is out of this world, with their langoustines and venison firm favourites of ours.

Other activities nearby include an old broch; Eilean Donnan Castle and there is actually a small turnstyle car ferry at Glenelg that you can take to get to Skye the old fashioned way!

The Moulin Inn

Moulin Inn

The Moulin Inn by Pitlochry in Perthshire is a fantastic dog-friendly pub. This warm panelled bar has a welcoming fire and at times can feel like a puppy training club given the number of dogs at the bar!.  A bowl of water and treats are always on offer and the full menu available for you makes it an ideal stop after a long walk.

Perthshire is blessed with some wonderful forest walks with Ben Vrackie less than a mile from the Moulin Inn and the lovely Black Spout Waterfall near the Edradour Distillery at the other end of town.

The Mishnish

The Mishnish Bar and Hotel in Tobermory is a great place to meet the visiting yachties and share a dram or two. With a number of nooks and crannies to sit in and a warm inviting fire, we love the bar where live music is regularly played as well as quiz nights and impromptu jamming sessions.

Located on the harbour front, the Mishnish is the perfect pit-stop when visiting the pretty town of Tobermory and exploring the beautiful island of Mull

The Kingshouse

The Kingshouse Hotel near Glencoe has always had a warm welcome for dogs and your dogs are still welcome in the lovely original walkers bar

With dog biscuits and water bowls on tap, this is one of our labs Tibbs and Aura’s favourite stops when heading north west into the hills!

The Clachan Inn

The Clachan Inn, Drymen in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park is renowned for being the oldest licensed bar in Scotland. Dogs always receive a warm welcome with dog treats and bowls of water readily supplied. A great place to mix with the local banter and mix with an international crowd walking the West Highland Way from Glasgow to Fort William.
